Africans need to unite and stop the blame game.

Africans throughout history have been inferior, mistreated, segregated to make us weaker and used for slavery. Yes! We will never forget the past as most of us come from families where our grandparents were slaves. Yes! It was brutal, inhumane and tragic because what I mean, what makes another race superior than the other right? We won't forget the past nor can we change it but what we can do is change the present and future.

The colonizers realized that Africans are stronger and powerful when united therefore found a way to segregate us to the point where there's black on black discrimination and hate. They saw that they are the minority so, they found a way to make us feel like we are the minority. We were deprived from a lot of things such as: practicing our customs, culture and beliefs, and proper education. We can blame them but to a certain extent. NOW, the question is, what can WE do now to switch things up to guarantee a better tomorrow?

We live in a democratic country where we have way more freedom compared to how it was back then. The problem lies in an African's mentality, the way we think. We continue to blame and point fingers but, it is not helping anyone now is it. We have this victim mentality that we have normalized. Every unfortunate thing that happens to us always has to link to how we were slaves or how badly the white man treated us or its simply because we are black. Sure, there are a few instances where African's are discriminated however, we need to change that image. We need to change that image where African's are seen as victims or "charity cases" and whites being "privileged". Yes, we have been wronged but what can we do now to rebuild ourselves and stand together again?

Why do African's hate each other so much? Why can't we unite and support each other? Why do we always put white people on a high horse and praise them? Then we still go back and say they are racist or privileged when we are the ones that continue to build and promote that image. When will we focus on ourselves? When will we focus on building our community.

We need to stand together and support each other. Another issue African's have is Umona - jealousy. We never want to see our own flourish and win. Why is that? "Black people gotta get beat up in a white business before they even think about supporting a black business." Your neighbor, sister, cousin, co-worker or friend just started a business? Support them! Buy their goods or services. Refer people to them. We need to build a community where we can count on each other. It starts here, changing this awful behavior and mentality. Cut off and let go of the chains of mental slavery - let light shine into your minds, change for the better. Stop building generational black on black hatred.

When we support each other, incredible things can happen.
